New York Yearly Meeting (NYYM) seeks a full-time Director for the ARCH program (Aging Resources, Consultation, and Help). The program is a ministry of caring for each other and ourselves as we grow older or are differently abled. It is grounded in a model of mutual accompaniment that values reciprocal relationships rooted in vulnerability and caring. The ARCH Director supervises a geographically diverse team of five to eight part-time (10 - 15 hours/month) ARCH regional and program coordinators.

 

New York Yearly Meeting (NYYM) serves Quaker Meetings (congregations) in New York State, northern New Jersey, and southwestern Connecticut. ARCH programming is delivered through on-site and Zoom worship and workshops, personal contacts, and other resources.

 

The ARCH Director exhibits a deep understanding of Quaker testimonies and practice. They nurture a  prophetic vision about the needs and future directions of the program as demographics change. Strong verbal and written communication skills are the core to success in this position. This person should be experienced working with groups, grant writing, tracking finances, and supporting volunteers. They should also be aware of how systems of oppression operate within organizations and be committed to anti-bias and anti-racist ways of doing and being.

 

Qualified candidates have education and / or experience in fields such as social work, gerontology, health care, or ministry. While the NYYM office is located in Manhattan, the ARCH Director could successfully perform the tasks from any location within the NYYM designated area. Salary is $60,000 - $66,000, depending on experience and training. Health insurance and retirement are included.
