Financial Threshing Sessions 2021

COME AND BE HEARD!

You are invited to a threshing session to consider how NYYM uses our resources. Specifically we will talk about our financial resources: how NYYM spends money, how we hope NYYM will spend money, how we decide what to spend money on.

A threshing session is an opportunity to consider everyone’s concerns and expectations, staying together through a process of listening and discernment, and guided by Spirit. A threshing session is to help season matters under consideration; no decisions are made at these sessions.

Is our yearly meeting stewarding our money faithfully? How much flexibility is possible? What things should be considered as we move forward with witness work and serving children, youth, and young adults in our yearly meeting?

Whether you are new to these questions or have been thinking about them for a long time, whether you avoid spreadsheets or use them every day, whether you frequently attend yearly meeting events or have never been to one, your voice is needed.

In fact, without your voice, we would not get to hear the real needs, the real hopes, the real aspirations, the real calling of NYYM.

If you like, you can review a Q&A on what will be “threshed,” such as how the budget is created, what budget matters Friends are concerned about right now, and how we got to where we are.

Please register here for the first of these virtual sessions!
