Meetings for Discernment
Meetings for Discernment are periods of extended, waiting worship designed to discern leadings and strengthen connections in our yearly meeting. At the Summer 2022 Meeting for Discernment, we will be seeking light collectively in extended worship using these queries:
What truths are being revealed today that we cannot unknow, cannot unsee?
How are we being called to change?
How are we being called to action?
The meeting will be in three sessions in-person at Silver Bay and simultaneously online via Zoom on Tuesday July 26th. There will be a Zoom meeting on the evening of Wednesday July 20th at 7 pm for anyone new to the Meeting for Discernment or interested in holding space as an elder. Below are more details for each session.
- Wednesday, July 20th, 7 - 8:30pm via Zoom only: A gathering of Friends new to the meeting for discernment and/or interested in holding the body throughout the meetings for discernment sessions. Friends will share their experiences of eldership and prepare for Saturday's sessions.
- Tuesday, July 26th, 9:15 - 10:45 am: The first session for extended worship on the quer above.
- Tuesday, July 26th, 2:15 - 5:15 pm: The second session for extended worship on the queries above.
- Tuesday, July 26th, 7:45 - 9 pm: A reflection session to consider what we've heard and what we've experienced.
