NYYM is Now Hiring!

Position: Administrative and Bookkeeping Associate

Job Posting

Full job Description

NYYM seeks an Administrative and Bookkeeping Associate to be the central organizational support person for our small and dedicated nonprofit.

Do you:

  • want to stretch and grow your skills at a mission-driven (Quaker) nonprofit?
  • like using and learning new technology?
  • enjoy tackling different kinds of tasks throughout the day?
  • love to work with numbers and spreadsheets?
  • want to learn (or increase your knowledge of) the ins and outs of non-profit administration?

If you find these questions intriguing, this role may be perfect for you.

What we’re looking for

You may be a Quaker, familiar with Quakerism, or someone open to learning about Quaker beliefs, including valuing every person, no matter their race, creed, class, ability, or age; non-violence; honesty and integrity; and living our values “out loud.”

You value your ability to attend to and keep track of details. You feel like a digital native that is comfortable in an online workspace (we use Google’s). You have experience in bookkeeping, working with budgets and payroll. A tax form, invoice, or a spreadsheet is something you’re comfortable with. You may even have the ability to develop spreadsheets yourself. You may have experience with Quickbooks in particular. You’re also interested in database optimization (we use Salesforce). You enjoy communicating with people, answering questions and offering help. You see technology as a collection of helpful tools that are full of potential.

You are able to join us in our beautiful New York City office (a couple of blocks east of Union Square) at least one day a week.
