Leonard Peltier Letter Requesting His Release from Prison

Background

At New York Yearly Meeting Fall Sessions 2014, Witness Coordinating Committee brought to the body a request that the Yearly Meeting write to President Obama asking him to arrange the release from prison of Lakota activist Leonard Peltier "in accordance with the plan drawn up by the National Congress of American Indians. Peltier is believed by some human rights activists to have been wrongly convicted of killing FBI agents. The gathered body of the Yearly Meeting approved sending the letter whose text appears below.

Paris Climate Change Convention 2015

At Fall Sessions 2015, the gathered body of the Yearly Meeting asked the clerk and general secretary of the Yearly Meeting to sign on to a letter written by Global Frackdown in Paris to be sent to the participants in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change to be held in Paris in November and December 2015. The text of the letter appears below.
