NYYM Minutes of Conscience

About Minutes of Conscience

"Minutes of Conscience" refers to statements approved by the gathered body of New York Yearly Meeting stating our stand or testimony regarding some aspect of social witness. They are called minutes because they are recorded in the minutes of our sessions. In the Religious Society of Friends, "minutes" can refer to such a statement or stand itself and not just to the written record.

Not all the actions Quakers take regarding social witness are minutes of conscience. For a more complete review of the yearly meeting's witness activities, please visit our Actions We Have Taken page.
